Title of the speech: „Models of Sustainability Management & CSR in Developed and Developing countries – the concept of PhD thesis”
The abstract: Interesting aspect regarding connections between sustainable management (SM), corporate social responsibility (CSR), and sustainable business models (SBMs) in both developed and developing nations. Especially with the growing need for companies to embrace their roles as catalysts for social and environmental change and move beyond profit-making is what inspired this study.
There seems to be a widespread belief that only the companies in developed countries see a need to implement the SM but the author of the planned PhD thesis sees that the companies conducting their businesses in developing countries should build SBM and take into consideration CSR. Finding a balance between sustainability and financial performance is difficult, though, particularly in business model sustainability where a complex network of suppliers, stakeholders, and linked processes poses particular difficulties. Therefore, finding key success factors to build the SBM and finding the relationship between these factors and the economic profit defined differently in short- and long-run is a very interesting research problem.
Thus, the presentation will be showing the results of systematic literature review relating to these topics. Based on this study is identified a research gap and research problem. Next the thesis and planned research method will be described.
